rococodreams asked: I recommended you today. Didn't realize how many travel blogs there were though. Anyway, thank you for keeping a tumblr on your trip, it's been lovely to read along!
omg, one last thing
A big group of us ended up going out for a last pint… well pints and shots ensued and we just got kicked out of two pubs… hee hee. I’ve stayed out of trouble all month, but the last night we get in trouble! I am now trying to vacuum and I’m tipsy, bad decision all around. I may regret this post tomorrow too, but here it is for you, in the spirit of sharing. Cheers!
A final cheerio!
My time here in Nottingham is coming to an end, sad to say. The past few days have been busy with school wrapping up, traveling in my free time, getting packed and cleaning my flat. I am headed back to London tomorrow, so this is my last night in Nottingham. I tried to post photos last night of my day in York (tried three times actually), but there were technical difficulties and now I am just...

Humor Writing Exercise
The following is an assignment I had to do tonight and thought you might enjoy reading. I was supposed to take an actual event that happened while travelling, and relate the story in a humorous style like the author Bill Bryson. These are actual events, but not necessarily the usual sense of humor of the author (that would be me…) Enjoy:
I have had the unfortunate luck to come...

Back in Nottingham
I left London this morning and am back in my flat in Nottingham. I was never able to shake this ear problem I’ve been having, so first thing I went to urgent care. It is indeed an ear infection and I am now on antibiotics. Let’s hope they work quickly so I can make the most of my last week and few days here! I am off to do some homework and unpack, but will try to post some photos...
In London
Well, I made it to London! I’m still not feeling myself, but have been able to enjoy myself. I’ve done the London Eye, Thames Cruise, Tower, St Pauls, and three museums in two days. Nothing can slow me down! Thanks for the well wishes, they helped me rally!! Photos soon (sadly can’t be done from over the iPod using McDonalds wifi)
From London with love, K
PS I bought the...

Went to Piano and Pitcher(former church turned into pub), had several pitchers, pouring rain, found the tram, home
= success
Knickers in a twist
I have decided to say to hell with my homework and go out pinting tonight! I have spent entirely too much time in this dreary flat. Yes, I know you all loved my school bag, but did you take a good look at the stack of homework sitting next to it?!?! I’ve spent several hours each day slaving over it. But no more! I am in England, and bloody hell I am going to enjoy it!
Ok, rant over. ...

I love love love the pictures of Chatsworth House! Such a gorgeous setting for such an opulent manor! I can really imagine that history must have come to life for you as you toured the house and grounds. This is fantastic and I am so glad you could share this with us =)
Hope you have a great weekend!

Rosslyn Chapel
While in Edinburgh this weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Rosslyn Chapel. This has always been a fascinating place, but when Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code made the Chapel central to his Holy Grail mystery, tourism boomed. Rosslyn Chapel was founded in 1446 by the St. Clair family and has seen much damage over the centuries, most notably during the Reformation. In 1997, convervations...

Art Critique for my Humanities Class
Canova’s sculpture Psyche and Cupid depicts the Roman god of erotic love awakening the princess with a kiss. The marble couple is locked in a passionate embrace, gazing into one another’s eyes and oblivious to the crowd of tourists circling them with their cameras. The neoclassical sculpture was completed in 1793 and placed here in the Louvre in 1824 (Wikipedia). In the piece, Canova has...

Back from Paris
OMG… what a weekend!
The trains to London and the Eurostar to Paris were pleasant. I got to eat at Marks and Spencer and get my favorite couscous (J will be so jealous). We went right to drop the kids off at their hostel and it was horrid. I was never so grateful to have decided to book myself a hotel room with the professors! Well…. I was even more grateful Friday morning when...
School Work
This program is proving way more intense than I expected. I spent six hours last night doing homework and still am a bit overwhelmed. I have had some short reflections on British culture to do, a paper and lots of reading. I hope that the teachers were just making up for the days we missed and things will be a bit less hectic next week. I have yet to really get a chance to see Nottingham,...

Houston: Day 3
After being stuck in Texas since Friday, we are finally waiting for the airport shuttle to take us to the airport. We are hoping and praying that we, and our luggage, get to our destination today.
Houston was fun… We went to Walmart for provisions and had a pizza party.
reinventweather asked: Ooh, where are you studying? I myself will be at King's College London this upcoming fall term. I unfortunately don't get to go until mid-September; you're lucky!
Houston?!?!!
After 12+ hours of travel, I’m now in Houston instead of jolly old London. The next flight out is Sunday, seriously! We are staying in a lovely airport hotel for the weekend. Got to roll with the punches, right? Anyone know what I should do in Houston?!
Today's the Day!
It’s finally the big day! I am sitting here in the airport, waiting on a delayed flight to Houston. Tropical storms are causing the airport to open and close. So far we look to be an hour behind schedule. Fingers crossed that we make our London connection!
